This course is designed for the novice seeking to learn the essential skills for surviving the outdoors with next to nothing. The course is kept simple and is based upon the four guiding principles:

• Water
• Warmth
• Shelter
• Food

• Survival navigation and lost procedures

With an emphasis on dealing with the extreme cold this course focuses on survival in the arctic conditions you can come to expect in Western Europe. It is based on the same principles as our spring/summer courses but with an emphasis on:

• Preparing for the outdoors

• Cold illness, awareness and treatment
• Signalling for help

Jungle Skills

Just as you would visit a dry ski slope before a skiing holiday, in order to get the most from any travels to the rain forests of the world this course provides essential training to cope with life in the jungle. Learning to live with the environment as opposed to fighting it is the key to enjoyment within the rainforest.
