9 HUGE mountains inside 4 GREAT Days

96 miles by bike, 37 miles on foot, and 5,216m of height gain – welcome to Scotland!

 

Train, bike, walk . no petrol required!

By now you will have heard of the mighty English 3000s and the infamous Welsh 3000s, but could Scotland’s 4000s be the greatest challenge event of them all? Not yet a well established challenge we have taken a leaf from Trail Magazine and decided to offer the full monty – throwing in a 70 mile trans-Scotland bike ride to boot … Sound interesting? Read on . . .

Team arrives in Aviemore . or why not get the overnight sleeper from London and arrive to meet us the next morning?

Collect bikes, and cycle to the Cairn Gorm mountains on the doorstep of Aviemore. We'll stash our bikes and spare kit before we head up to our first two Scottish 4000ers: Cairn Gorm and Ben Macdui. That night we'll wild camp in the Lairig Ghru valley - in a bivvy or better still at the bothy.

Summit the next three Scottish 4000s: Cairn Toul, Sgor an Lochain Uaine, and Braeriach. Walk back down to our bikes and head back to accommodation in Aviemore.

Bike ride from Aviemore to Fort William . and with Aviemore at 240m above sea level and our destination at sea level even a Dutchman would enjoy this ride!

The toughest day saved till last . with Britain's highest mountain last on the list. Today we cycle along Glen Nevis to Steall. From here we'll bag our last four Munroes: Aonach Beag, Aonach Mor, Carn Mor Dearg, and Ben Nevis before heading off the mountain back to awaiting bicycles.

Fitness Levels
These four days are obviously demanding and long. The last day will take 12 hours on the mountain alone – and on top of that an hour and half bike ride – this is no mean feat. In addition flexibility is limited – once you begin each day you will be committed. This mountain challenge will be ideal then for those of you who have experience of the mountains and are happy to be pushed a little to the next level . . .

Wild camping / youth hostel / bunkhouses.

Alternatively dates can be arranged to suit for groups of three or more joining us as a team.

Location:
Aviemore (start) and Fort William (finish).

Price per person: £445
