Will4Adventure Hill Skills
Many people experience the hills and would wish to explore the countryside further but don't really have the ability to do so confidently. These 2 day courses are designed for those of you looking to do more hill walking, and safely enjoy the outdoors below the snow line. Also these courses may also particularly be of interest to the new comer to adventure racing seeking to learn those all important navigation skills.

Hill Skills 1
Introductory Hill Walking Course

Course Aim :
To prepare the novice for hill walking, with the skills to safely negotiate and navigate paths on hills in summer conditions.

Course Content :

. Equipment for the outdoors
. Map skills
. Introduction to compass work
. Route planning
. Safety considerations
. Action on getting lost!

Possible Locations :
Peak District National Park, Mid-Wales, Dartmoor, North York Moors - by arrangement.

Price per person : £99

Hill Skills 2
Into The Wilderness!

Course Aim :
To provide walkers with the skills to safely negotiate hills and mountain areas in all kinds of conditions, below the snow line. This course is for those that wish to advance themselves that bit beyond hill walking and more into the realms of mountaineering.

Course Content :

. Map and compass work
. Micro- and night navigation
. Pacing and timing
. River crossing
. Safety considerations
. Emergency scenarios on the hill

The nature of this course requires us to camp out on the Saturday night - hence you will need to be equipped with a good tent and rucksack.

Possible Locations :
Mid-Wales, Snowdonia and the Lake District by arrangement.

Price per person : £120

Course numbers : 2 - 4
