Some words from two of this year's walkers . . .
Thank you for a superb event, thoroughly enjoyed it, I might even recover from it! Could you please thank all the marshalls, also, they were great!
Sandra Rowland
Will, the event is a must for anyone who is looking for a challenge for a good cause - I thoroughly enjoyed the whole event and would happily do it again, thanks to all who were involved in organising it.

Will4Adventure
is now planning the next Challenge4Charity in aid of the British
Heart Foundation: an insane 50 mile sponsored walk
through the Peak District National Park.
But do not let this distance put you off - you can walk as little or
far as you like with 50 miles being the maximum limit. Apart
from raising sponsorship for this most deserving charity, we hope that
this mad challenge will prompt you to push yourself like you have never
been before
and we assure you it will be an experience you will
relish for many years to come!
Challenge4Charity
2008 is
a continuous sponsored walk - with no opportunities for sleeping, or
for separate team members to walk separate stages - it is purely a case
of walk
as far as your legs will take you!
To that end pick up points will be located at the 10 mile point, the
15 mile point, and then at two and three mile intervals thereafter until
the half way point. After 25 miles, walkers will continue in small teams
and be supported by a vehicle which will meet them at one and two mile
intervals.

The
Route
<< Download your Route Card by clicking here
The route is circular and will start and finish in Sheffield, via the
half way point in Bakewell. While it is not hilly, it is in the Peak
District - so there will be hills to walk up and down: though nothing
too steep. It follows footpaths, bridleways, and byways, and some roads.
It is easily navigated and pleasant to follow.
Before the event all walkers will be given a set of written instructions
to help them find their way. In addition marshals will be located along
the route to show the way.

Maps
OS Landranger 1:50,000 sheet numbers 110 and 119. We ask that you provide
your own support driver and car. If you can do this - then great!
Timings
This event will commence on Saturday 12th April at 7am. It will
finish on Sunday 13th April at 7am
or when walkers can walk no
further - whichever happens first!
Refreshments and Feeding
Walkers are requested to bring and carry a lunch pack and a large assortment
of snacks to take them through the day. In addition Will4Adventure will
provide drink stations at marshal points and a hot meal at Bakewell
for all that want one.
Accommodation
The issue here is that you may finish your walk at 3 in the morning
so be sure to book a hotel that knows this and is happy with this arrangement.
We will be happy to provide details of local hotels that can help.
Cost
This event will cost you £30 per person to enter. Late entries
(after 28/02/08) will cost £35. No entries can be taken on the
day.
Please note that this event is a non-profit event. We encourage you to raise this fee through sponsorship and hopefully
- you may raise even more! But, an initial payment of £30 gets
you entered into this event. Cheques should be made payable to Will4Adventure.
Event
Support
This entire event will only work with the help of volunteers. That begins
with us - but we are also looking for kind souls to fill these jobs:
* drivers
to ferry people back to rendezvous points (day and night shifts)
* stationary
marshals to check people through the check points
Let us know if you are willing and able to help us out and please do
ask around if you know anyone that may be able to help. Your assistance
will be vital, and we assure you, you will totally enjoy being a part
of the team on this great day.
